How early? I have never seen one like that.

    Is it real?

AH expressed an opinion that is was slightly different than the 901 tabbed bag here:

I asked Allen to look at it when it first appeared on Ebay because it look peculiar.

It has 356C style clasps. I would call it a "tweener". Not quite a 356C and not quite a 911. It is authentic but not sure what it came in. Probably an early 911 or 912 but that is just a SWAG.

    Ciao

Clasps, tabs, ribbed, smooth, elephant hide...

Parsing tool bag details? Is this really happening?
I'm afraid The Good Dr would be laughing along with me right now.

I must have 25 tool bags from '64-'73 and shake my head that it's come to this kind of trivial gnat sorting. Not enjoyable for this cat.

    Just my 2 cents.

As much as I don't care I'm obviously reading these posts.
    And learning something.

    Carry on.

I gotta admit, I'm on the other side on this. I love the minutia.

But then, my life is shockingly empty. So there's that.

I can talk about tool bags but I don't have any. I sold them to Eric 20 years ago for $20.00 a piece.

    Exactly "hmmm".

The highest bidder - if I recall correct - is the same bidder who was the highest bidder on the $$$ SWB spark plug wrench (BTW I still have the one that you gave me years ago).

Interesting to see is that the second runner up (does that exist, second runner up?) "only" bid $606 and that there was not much bid activity. Apparently buyers were not that "convinced" or not interested.

    Just my $.02
