    Looks to be off of a non sport seat. L brackets were only used on stock seats.

    well. according to some pretty knowledgeable guys that posted on the thread linked, this is a sport seat receiver. I would imagine someone could have bolted it to a non-correct bracket sometime in the last 45 years, I haven't owned it the entire time. if it's an issue I can remove the bracket. correct length and type for a sport receiver.
