    '. . . Carrera 2.7 RS Lightweight - the ex-Sonauto team car, raced on the 1973 Tour de France by Francis Roussely and Jean Francois Grobot.

    Manufactured by Porsche in early 1973, this original, matching-numbers, LHD, 2.7 Carrera RS was built to M471 Lightweight specification, finished in Light Yellow (code 626211) and fitted with limited-slip differential (220). It was supplied directly to Sonauto, Paris in May 1973.

    Sonauto, being a wholly owned subsidiary of Porsche, entered competition as Ecurie Sonauto (Race Team) and ran a total of six different competition-prepared Porsche 911s as they became available from Porsche during the late 1960s and early 1970s: A 911R, 911 T/R, 911 ST, 911 2.7RS (911 360 1083), 911 2.8 RSR and 911 3.0 RS.

    This Carrera 2.7 RS Lightweight, with extensive period competition history, remarkably still retains its original numbers-matching Type 911/83 engine no: 6631045. Since 2013 the car has had extensive service work and set-up carried out by Maxted-Page & Prill and is now offered in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition.
    (2013 First in Class – Warren Concours).

    The car comes with a fully-documented history file which includes:- Porsche Certificate of Identity, a full inspection report carried out by Jürgen Barth (2012) confirming its authenticity, and a (2012) insurance valuation and inspection report by noted French historian Jean Pierre Cornu, both prepared for the last owner - Guy Chasseuil . . .
