    Radio's Being Sold as "Untested"

If you are going to buy an early radio for your car and the seller says it is untested you may want to ask them if you can return it if it does not work or can not be fixed. The reason I say this is most of the radio's I have bought recently as "Untested" but was working when removed, etc. are not only "not working" but are not repairable and the seller knows it. My early Blaupunkt repair source recently called me to tell me my 4th radio in a row was not only unrepairable but it was the 3rd time he saw the radio in the last couple of months. I do buy untested radio's but I will pay what the parts or worth to me, like push buttons, knobs, faceplates, etc. if they are working or repairable that is a bonus. So don't always assume that a radio can be fixed even by a professional.

Can someone post the protocol for testing radios? I'm one of the guys who has posted a radio that's never been tested.

Use a professional..I sent one to be tested and was told that someone in the past connected it up wrong and fried it beyond repair!( told it has to have a speaker hooked up when doing these test too) Looked real nice though.PO said it worked and was on the shelf for a long period of time....He gave me a nos PORSCHE 912 radio plate as a consolation; I was kinda okay with that,I guess.....glad I called him on it!..The other radio was not as bad. It was sold to me as a working radio-not, it was repairable though....double money to have a repaired- working radio.....I think I`ll just install the 912 PORSCHE radio plate and call it good!!!...cliff
