    Porsche building 69-75 dashboards

Porsche AG just announced that it is reproducing the 69-75 dashboard. (I am quoting Porsche here - not entirely sure about the differences between the years.)

Available to order in Germany from €951.99 (ca. US$ 1050).

They say that they're using a modern substructure but that surfaces should replicate touch, grain, colour and gloss/shine of the old/original dashboards. Comes with loudspeaker cover.

Tried finding an English press release but I think so far available in German only.

My '69 has been in storage since 1976, so the dash is in excellent shape. But I sure would like to buy that speaker grill as an individual part!!
Looks like they missed the color of the carpet trim by a bit compared to my OE ones.

The funny thing is that in the pictures of the 'new' dash, the speaker grille seems to sag slightly like a 40 year old version.

Very puzzled by the octagonal perf pattern. Sure would have been easy to do it right.

I think it may be an old photo of the bad one. Speaker pattern, wide gaps etc still there.

It is really sad, that having gone to all that trouble, the details are not right.
Even advertising it as suitable for 69-75.
