1973 date stamped 85 litre RS plastic fuel tank

Original date stamped plastic Fuel tank
    1973 stamped.
Might be May 73, but tough to tell.

    Great original condition.

I could clean it but that would remove the patina. This is the way it came out of the car and moved to a shelf many many yrs ago.

Has the connections you see in the pics.

Happy to take more pics upon request.

    $2,200 plus shipping.
Weight is not a problem as this is very light.
The box size will be large so we will have to determine best shipping.

Only 2200 for an original 73 plastic tank in excellent condition
    No issues. Great value.

You might have much better luck with a more realistic price. Ever since the factory made them available again (NEW), the price on the old ones has tumbled....

    What is reasonable?

And a OEM new part is well... Not the same in my opinion.

At some point original means original. Not reproduction even if reproduced by porsche (or their vendor). I doubt they made it then or now.

So - here is a 1973 original plastic fuel tank for those that want it.

But thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to get repro mirrors, Fuchs, fenders, windows, lenses, headlights , gauges, harnesses, and all and sell it as a NOS car. Woohoo.

I think more the issue than the price is the date on the tank, very few RS cars were made after May 73.

... right hand drive (British market) RS had the series tank so this would not be correct spec for that subset either.

Maybe. But a lot of other cars had plastic tanks as well. My June 73 911E has a May 73 dated plastic tank as well. It would suit S's and E's as many row cars had them and maybe T's as well.
