    1969 Deck Lid Grill Details

Currently cleaning a '69 deck lid grill for resto. Question is should I have it bright dipped except for the mesh which will be painted flat black I presume. Been looking for pics of a nice clean original one but cannot find any. Any pics or commentary/advise would be helpful.
I know there are a few '69 experts out there. Appreciate the help.
    Thanks,

    Hi,

I've just bought a 69 S project car and the grille looks untouched and unchanged for all its 46 years and to my naked eye indistinguishable as to surface gloss and finish etc from the now cleaned up but also original door frames - which are clear anodised. I'll be interested to read what others more knowledgeable have to say.

    Cheers,
    Mark

The slat finish is indeed bright dip but, the mesh screen is black anodize, not painted. The only black paint is the vertical alum bars.

But only on their upper part, sides and underneath are left bare aluminium. (?)
At least its like that on my 71 and could be too in 69/70.

Well, I don't know about that Karim. I bought this grill and upon inspection looks completely original to me.

The grill that was originally on my 70S was completely sprayed in black to mimic 72-73 so I can't use it for a finish reference with the exception of the bright dip anodize on the slats.
