    WTB: Dash for my 72T

My current dash pad is dried-out and cracked. I dont think it is repairable or worth trying to recover.
I am looking for a decent core or recovered piece. I have to replace the front windshield anyway, so I might as well do the dash.
Let me know if you have something or know of some place to look.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Porsche Classic just started retailing a dash for our cars that can be ordered from any dealer for $1353 -- I've already seen it discounted by 20% at a couple of parts dealers.

I have a suspicion that this is the same part they've been selling for awhile and not a new part. If so, many of us have been less than happy with it. I have a dealer friend of mine investigating further.

IMHO, the best alternatives are finding an uncracked, original dash (although the last couple I saw sold for $5k+) or the Lakewell dash which I have installed more than once and is quite nice.

Just received a dash from Porsche; what a joke.
77-85 A/C vent mold outline is clearly visible.

Anyone else seen one of these?

I am also going to the swap meet at Parts Haven this weekend. I am going to cross my fingers I can find a core for repurposing.

If you didn't need the speaker grille, I have a 1976 dash that has a few cracks only on the flat part. Easy to put material only on the flat part and call it good. It's not stock, but maybe an option at $650, shipped to you.

Frank- I have seen the grills you described about 3 months ago at the local Porsche dealer. They were surprising in so many misses- 74 air outlet etc.

What I am curious about is this recent iteration of the dash that Porsche has announced (with a press release!?). Is it the same or a better version. Unsure?

I emailed my local Porsche dealer parts person about this. If he can provide any further info I will post here.

Did you find one at the swap meet?

Dying to know if any members here bought one of the new dashboards I sold at Pamona in 99 (or was it 2000?)
I purchased 10 of them on a dealer close out and figured I better dump a few to offset my cost. New in the Porsche boxes- I think we got $500 each? What an idiot.

Fortunately I still have a few.

Maybe the one you bought recently was old stock and this new one from Porsche classic is the goods

Its claimed to be the same as the original....hopefully that is true
