    Partsheaven 25th annual Swap meet & Concours

    Partsheaven, one of two Porsche-only dismantlers in the SF Bay area held its annual open house swap meet and car show today at their location in Hayward, CA. I have done business with them for years, always got exactly what I was looking for, at a fair price, and recommend them highly.

    This has always been a low-key get-together, more of a cars-and-coffee affair with Partsheaven's own parts for sale inside, private sellers out front in the block-long street peddling their wares, and a small 'Concours' in the adjoining parking lot. Another near-by parking lot next-door, since its all located in an industrial park, was set aside for R Gruppe cars.

    Posted below, some random shots from earlier today, when it was still cool, breezy and condusive to walking, browsing and chatting with friends, not sweltering hot as it is now. If there are any specific questions, I'll try to answer them.

    One of the most intriguing encounters was with this VW with mid-mounted 3.2 liter 911 motor, hooked to a 944 Turbo S2 transaxle and rear suspension, big brakes and wheels. Quite nicely and professionally done.

    The final set.

    As is so often the case, the best, cleanest, most interesting stuff is usually in the parking lot.

    Ohhh………….if only it were that easy to add 10 - 15 horsepower.
