    Luggage straps: Expanders up to MY 1967 / Leather MY 1968 and later ?

    There was a discussion about luggage straps and it let me check period documents.

    What I can find in accessories lists and contrary to common knowledge, (optional) luggage straps up to Model Year 1968 were Elastic Expanders (probably centered w 4 legs, as with 356's).
    Only by and after 1968, one could order (black) leather straps, instead. its option code for 1968 and 1969&later differed.
    While leather straps are often documented, elastic expanders are not.
    So (?):
    1964-1967: Elastic expanders
    1968 and later: (black) leather straps.
