Need Help re: front suspension skid protector -- which one?

my car is a '68 swt produced 8/67. the parts manual has an illustration #4/1a dated 6/67 showing a skid pan part # 901.341.161.03 to cover cross member part # 901.341.013.03 (which is the cross member that i have.

the parts manual also has illustration 4/1 dated 11/67, which shows a different cross member (part # 901.341.013.02) and a different skid pan (part # 901.341.161.01).

so, here's the question -- was the skid pan #901.341.161.03 only used for 6 months, or did it date back to before 6/67?

where can i find skid pan #901.341.161.03?

thanks for all of your help.

I think you may be confusing parts manual issue/revision dates with vehicle production dates.
The front suspension, and thus the 'skid plate' was changed for "Model A", which is the '68 model year car.
I think you need the "03" plate, which I think is being reproduced by Parts Klassik.
    Hope that helps.

thank you for your help. the dates were taken directly from the (lower right corner of the page). i wasn't using any vehicle production dates, except my own production reference date.

however, i discovered an interesting thing in the parts manual. at first glance, the parts manual illustrations for 6/67 and 11/67 appear to show a different part, and the part #s are different ("02" vs. "03" suffix). but the illustration picture of the skid plate is rotated 180 degrees in the two illustrations and you only see that when you look more closely. in the 6/67 and the 11/67 illustrations, it looks like the same part, drawn from a different perspective. i am doing more research, but if the 2 skid plates ("02" vs "03) are close to the same, and the skid plate that i currently own matches the bolt holes, i am not planning on making my own life more difficult.

i will call Kurt Donohoe at PartsKlassik and see whether he has an "03" skid plate. (i didn't see that part on their website, however.)

all of that said, i still welcome additional input. thank you.
