    Let's get this party started

Hello P Brothers and sisters. We Irish early 911 owners are small in number and all affiliated with Porsche Club of Ireland (PCI). We have all tapped into the mine of knowledge for years now and its part of how we are still on the road - and boy! what roads we are blessed with in the Emerald Isle. I'm Garrett, there's Jamie and also the venerable General Dad, President of PCI - we're all in Cork. There may be others around the country, Denis Murphy of Adare Co. Limerick I know of. This could an opportune time for others to connect via the forum.

Anyway, to give you a flavour of what we get up to, see my flickr:

    All the best

James Galway featured a tune once on a 4th July celebration...awesome and have never forgotten it.

I was one time contracted to do some work by Ireland's biggest landowner -- a state owned organization- and the brief took me to many green corners of the isle I wouldn't have otherwise visited. Have worked there many times but usually had drab hire cars or taxis. Must return to enjoy those fabulous roads in my 911.

    September be it!
I'll arrive in Newcastle Aug. 27th have a little big tour through Scotland. Stay for a 2-3 of days in Glasgow where my niece is currently making her PhD.
Schedule is to be in goodwood 13th Sept. So I have ca. 7-9 Days for Ireland. Any recommendations?
My wife will probably not want to run the whole wild atlantic way, but 300 km/day with a day off in between would be nice.
Any recommendations for a 8 day trip arriving in Belfast leaving in Rosslare?
We won't come with the Porsche but with a '75 BMW 3.0 Csi or a rodded '67 1600-2.

Uli, i'll leave it to locals in and Ireland and Scotland to advise but the Northumberland coast north of Newcastle upon Tyne is worth taking in. Places like Bamburgh Castle , Holy Island (connected to mainland by a tidal causeway) can get overlooked in the sprint to get north of border Also with you and your wife's interest in motorsport don't forget Duns is in the borders just off the Newcastle to Edinburgh road. Museum there in honour of possibly the best ever natural driving talent might be open in Duns after refurbishment.

PS as mentioned when we last met I'd be pleased to show you around my club if in London or Surrey. Lot of automobile history there -- we had the Clark museum trophies etc on display I suppose to give them a display while Duns renovations underway safe alongsige the many the club has itself.
