    LWB has a pebbled backing and SWB is a smooth backing ALL colors appear to be the same

    Oh, it's an original early badge, not a repro if that is what you are asking,,,

    I just don't agree with his statement that there is a difference between the badges on SWB cars vs LWB cars and that the difference is the pebbled back. It's a false statement that if oft repeated creates an inaccuracy for future restorers.

    70 SATMan is correct. My '72's badge is a smooth back and I've met another member with a '72 smooth back badge. I suspect the pebbled back was a bit later, '74/'75 maybe.
