    Metal Valve Stems

I think the metal valve stems a tire shop put on my wheels are leaking (saw bubbles at the base after washing).

Do I need to use a special metal valve stem for my 6" Fuchs?

    If so, what?

    and how about 7" Fuchs?

I'm not a real expert here, maybe some of the real experts (for instance, Harvey Weidman) will chime in.

I do know that some Porsche wheels have valve stem holes in odd sizes although I don't know the particulars for each wheel. Check these items on the Stoddards website:

SIC-900-415-00 Tire Valve Stem 1 1/4" Length-.625 rim holes, Schrader brand

    The write-up says:

Tire Valve 1 1/4" Length-.625 rim holes. These are authentic Schrader brand valve stems—and are considered much better than the more commonly found pieces. These larger valve stems can be used in early Fuchs alloys which were originally fitted with inner tubes.
