    Seeking a Miracle: A 3 for 3 Plating Shop

Those of us who have restored cars are all too familiar with the "pick any two" rule when it comes to body shops and platers - we can reasonably expect two out of following three:

    1. Cost
    2. Quality
    3. Time

The plating shop I've been dealing with has been fine with cost and quality but time has been a problem and now it's getting worse as they just won a large contract which shuffles smaller accounts to the back of the line. So I'm looking for a new plater. I use them to chrome plate SWB turn signals and to copper and nickel plate headlight reflectors in preparation for the vapor deposited aluminum process.

So the miracle - Is anyone doing business with a plater who delivers on all three? For me the order of priority is: quality, cost and time. I have the first two with my present plater, but I'm just too busy to wait 3-4 months for a job to be done. Am I seeking the impossible?

    Thanks,
    John

McKenzie Plating in Springfield has done some nice work for me. They have done a
Quite a bit of work for George Wingards cars which have been shown at Pebble Beach.
