    New Deck Lid Letters Plastic?

    Hello,
    I noticed that the black "PORSCHE" lettering and "911T" emblem for the deck lid of my '73 could still be ordered new, but somebody mentioned that the new parts were actually a plated plastic, and not metal (I assume anodized aluminum) as the originals. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

    It's not true...

    The old school annodized type is still available from Porsche.

    The last model range (991's etc..) have indeed the plated plactic type and ar stick-on.

    They are exactly the same size but a lot lighter and cheaper.

    So now a days you see sometimes true classics being 'restored' with the plastic ones....
