Does anybody know the thread Pitch of the Male part of the hood latch.. my old one is worn out and i was going to machine one from barstock

its not M12 by 1.50 and also not M12 by 1.75 either..

is it an odd ball pitch?

It's a very fine thread, maybe 1,25, there should be a thread pitch gauge in your tap and die set.

Speaking of hood latches Ed, I enjoyed your class at Parade on how to install/adjust them.
