    Auction Description:

The powerplant of this vehicle is a 160-hp flat six-cylinder 2.0-liter engine. It is meshed with a five-speed manual transmission that makes driving this car very enjoyable. This Porsche has the right boxes checked for what you could have wanted in 1967. Some of the equipment includes a radio, VDO instrumentation and fold-down rear seats. The vehicle is also equipped with four-wheel disc brakes to ensure safe deceleration.

This Porsche received a complete restoration that was finished in 2012. This 1967 Porsche 911S Coupe is reported to have its correct running gear; and it is finished in its original color combination of Irish Green with a Black Leatherette interior (according to its COA). The Porsche also comes with tools, original books and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. The car was purchased from the second owner, and at that time, removed from long term storage. The restoration occurred over a two year period. This vehicle is mechanically sound and ready to run and drive as one would expect. Prior experiences with this type of sports car relates to owning such a machine as being a great experience.

This 911S is a great car to drive in and has that vintage Porsche feel. It grips the road nicely and has the power when you want it. The five 6 x 15-inch (error - '67s were narrower then 6") Fuchs wheels and new interior really stand out from the crowd. This car is as beautiful inside as it is on the outside, with its black dash flowing nicely into the countersunk gauges. This two-door Coupe is an excellent representation of the craftsmanship that Porsche builds into all of their cars. This 1967 Porsche 911S Coupe is a great vehicle to own and a joy to drive. It is reported that only 1,823 of these high-specification short wheelbase 911’s were produced in 1967.

I'm guessing "correct running gear" means right size engine but not "matching numbers"? That makes a big difference. It sems if I wanted to work for an auction house I'd be an English major. They wax eloquent very well.
Porsche taste on a Volkswagen budget...

Ill be attending the auction but not to bid. For Petrolicious (www.petrolicious.com), a vintage car enthusiast site I frequently write for.

Still, since I have a 1967 S in restoration, I'll be interested to see what this goes for...

There are several 65 and 66 911s as well as a 70S and a handful of other Porsches. The 67S has fewer obvious flaws than the other Porsches. They are anticipating some pretty big numbers on some inexpertly-restored cars. Will be interesting to see the hammer prices.
