    black wire help here please..

ok , so have stuck the motor back in .. took a look at the pictures i had on the phone.. seem everything is great except this one black wire..

i cant figure out where it goes...

its near the thermostat in the harness.. and is around the carburetor area in the length.. it has a spade on it..

Well first that isn't a proper euro spade end, that looks more american, secondly there does need to be a wire that goes to that solenoid just beyond your hand. Use a volt meter and find when if ever, is the wire powered.

That wire will have nothing to do with the handbrake. That sure looks like an added wire, but since you say its powered is it always powered or does it come on with the ignition switch? Secondly insulate the end so it can't inadverdantly ground and see if the engine will start. If it does then see what isn't working.

    What year is the car/engine?
Do you have a meter to test and see what terminal it is in the 14 pin connector it is (if '70-'73)?

What the hell ? A little more information would be helpful . Is the car a '70 or '71 that came with MFI and now has carburetors ? Are we taking a test ? How about a larger area pic .
