    FS: 1969 Porsche 912 - Ossi blue

    1969 Porsche 912

    California Car
Very Dry, typical surface corrosion, no rust holes.
Very, Very original, even smells original inside.
Runs and drives very nicely, Solex carbs.
    Four Speed gearbox.
Original paint in door jambs, car has been reprayed many years ago.
Respray is not a professional job, painted over some rubbers, overspray, etc.
This car is a time warp, all hardware and interior details are original.

The biggest problem I have found is the rear section above the tail light has been replaced.
The piece that was replaced is approx. the last 14 inches of the left quarter panel.
When you look up underneath you can see the splice, must have been a fender bender years ago.
The picture shows a little bondo in the sticker panel in rear trunk.

This is a wonderful car to drive or possibly a project???

Contact Rodger@orbitracing.com and I will tell you everything I know.

    $42,000.00

I thought there would be more interest in this car. My thought was that somebody would turn in into a hot-rod 911 project - is this car priced too high?

Clearly, like many, you are still not in touch with the current 912 market. Should is one thing; is this car over valued, yes, but not double. As a reference, a recent 912 out of full restoration from a well known SoCal shop sold for $120K (as just discussed at the Werks Reunion). The rising tide has floated all boats. Track 914 prices for another reality check! Bubble?

    Rodger,
The 912 market is all over the board. We recently sold an exceptional '68 2 owner semi-restored example and I can tell you that buyers are much more logical and shrewd (I.E: cheap) than the nuevo 911 buyers we see entering the market these days.

The challenge is that your car is a project. Once buyers do the rough math they lean toward restored or very nice original cars because they are a much better value. It's way too easy to get upside down in a restoration. One could easily spend what you're asking for your car to do an upscale mediocre restoration on it.

I would submit that the "rising tide" does not impact projects nearly as much as turn key examples.

Thank you Frank. My point exactly in previous post, I was just to lazy to spell it out....

I have an original paint, 1969 912 that is a 2 owner car (I am second). The car is perfect and I wouldn't consider selling the car for less than $75,000 and even at that number, I am not sure I would let her go. I have 1976 930's, a GT2 a 1972 911T and none come close to the simplicity and joy of the 912.
