    Ultimate correct finishes guide

I was recently contacted by a Internet/computer challenged gent that moved to my area. He is restoring a 70S with his son....and somehow mistook me for someone who knows something about early 911 restoration. I've had a few and "restored" a nice 71E.....but I am a hot rodder and tend to defile them, more than restore them.....I know enough to be dangerous and then I drive the piss out of them.

That being said, I would like to help provide the answers to his questions......as follows:

"My son and I are restoring a 1970 911S and we need to research (with your help) the proper types and colors of plating on all the small parts such as:
    the brake gravel guard plates
    trunk/hood latches
    steering column clam
    engine fan hub and pulley
    etc. etc.

I think that I know the answers to these questions, but I also know that the resto experts reside here.............can you answer these questions and more.......has anyone compiled the "Ultimate Early 911 plating/finishes handbook"?

    regards,
    al

PS: I have been searching and continue to do so..............

This is something that the Porsche Club of American should have done years ago.

The Mustang and Corvette people compiled all this information 30 years ago. PCA judges cars all the time and they have no idea what they're judging.

Opps, I didn't mean to get started again. Sorry about that.
