    From the ad:

Porsche from the early era of 911´s. I have had this Project car in my carage since 1996 and now it is time to let it go. Chassis number 301045 and it is built in the spring of 1965, please see the attached Factory Certificate indicating chassis number and first delivery from the factory. Engine number is *911380* and it is propably from 1967 and externally it looks like S-model. Engine is in runnind order with a minor oil leak from the Oil Return Tube from the cylinder head on right side. Manual 4 speed gearbox. Car is now disassembled but parts are 99% existing except rear window which unfortunately went broken while not attached to the car. More information and pictures by email upon request. Price 196500 € or reasonable offers considered.

I had to take another look as well, when I saw this ad.

What would you consider as a fair price for this kind of a project at the moment?
Prices seem to be more or less everywhere....

    Timo,
Hardly enough info there to establish a "fair price" but 196k EUR is probably too high.

Even IF the chassis were completely rust free and ready for paint (it's not) and IF 99% of the parts were there and in excellent condition (doubt it), the non matching engine is a big knock on a '65. And the core value of the existing motor doesn't offset the investment by much.

The better question is "Where is the market currently for a properly restored 65 911?" THAT is the basis for value on a project like this.

Looks like the seller has a knack for unfinished projects.

Its not for sale locally so IMO even seller must know that price is ridiculous so better to offer it in Germany.
On serious note, it'll take lot of money to finish it and from this add you can't say if all parts are good or not. And its missing engine. (But I can't understand anyway this hype about MY 65 vs MY 66)
