73S - rear quarter window installation question...

I have installed the rear quarter windows, but find that they won't pull shut with the latch (or at least it is waaaay too difficult and I don't want to force things further without consulting the experts here. I am using the white/clear plastic 'desk pads' between the latches where they mount to the C pillar...but wondering if they are not always used and act as spacers when needed. Also, is it best to latch the window closed and then tighten the four secure allen head bolts at the B pillar? Thank you all!

When I did this install, I used the spacer on the drivers side and the latch was tight, but reasonable to close. On the passenger side I left the white/clear spacer out and it latches very tight without it. I figured it was the new seals and I would let the latch compress the seals for a while and then come back and try the spacer again at a later date.

Thank you for you sharing your thoughts and experience...do you recall if it is better to latch and then secure the allen head bolts (since the hinge holes are larger than the bolts and therefore allows some movement), or am I over-thinking this?

Hmm, I don't remember. I'll look at it when I get home and see if that shakes something loose.

Not sure about 911's but the quarter windows on 356 is similar. I have always lightly secured the hinge side so there is some ability to move slightly and then close window to latch side . This allows alignment , then latch window in best fit situation and then slowly open to keep position on the hinge side. Then tighten hinge side and should hold that best position.
This make take some fines but when it's good it's quite smooth to open and close.
Let us know how it goes
