Thumbs up Mountains instead of Monterey....

For years my family has been grinding on me to attend their annual ‘Wrightwood Mountain Classic Car Show’….
And my same excuse was that it ALWAYS conflicted with the Monterey Historics……

Well seeing ‘we’ are all go’n up to Monterey for Rennsport in a few weeks I decided to bag the Historics this year for the first time since ’88….

So, I cleaned up the old Chevy and went up to the mountains to visit my family and finally attend their community car show.

The old Chevy ran GREAT through the desert on one of the hottest SoCal days of the year…. With the factory AC go’n it ran no hotter than about 210…. And with the ‘80’s type 4 speed auto w/overdrive, I was cursing at about 70 at just a tick under 2 grand….

I will say V8 was a bit asthmatic at 6000 feet.......

It was a GREAT community car show, with friendly folks and mostly American hot rods of all sorts…. A great day......
