    What am I missing?

    Same car?

Don't even know where to begin in describing all the anomalies... the least of which is the bodywork.

Will the real vehicle identification number please stand up.

Nope! Different car. Dead giveaway is the differences in the radio.
Porsche taste on a Volkswagen budget...

    Radio? lol

How about the fact that those door panels on the "black" car haven't been off in 20+ years! And when did the original eng/trans show up?

(I do agree on the radio though; definitely different and who the heck would install an aftermarket radio? This thing screams All Wrong.)

Maximum bid: US $119,101.00 and reserve not met.
Unbelievable, people are willing to spent 119k without doing their homework.

    Anyone solve this mystery?

2 cars with the same VIN?

I'm confident the original car in this post is the real 1367.

So what VIN is the other one?

The photo-evidence for car #2's claim would seem to be a lot stronger...

Why do you say that? (Legit question.)

Would be nice if dash number was legible on the second car.

First car also appears to be a true '65:
    4 screw dash
    Wipers park on right side
    Lower dash panel
    Glove box door?
    Ignition sw?

And... I know for a fact that 1367 is not currently "matching numbers". At least not without hanky-panky.
