    WTB: 915 5/R Slider

I bought a 5 speed 915 a couple years ago for my project. Turns out it's a 4 speed. I'm looking for a 5/R Slider in good shape to convert it to a 5 Speed. Let me know what you have.

The 5/R slider is the same for 4 or 5 speed. In fact the inside 5th teeth will be brand new. Remove The two spacer/bushes, the snap ring on the shift rail and install fixed and coasting 5th gear set with bearings and you got a 5 speed. Gordon

Not positive as the type and serial are missing from the bottom. Best I can tell is it's a 1974 915 4 speed. Mag case, 7:31 R&P. Ratios seem to be AZ-11.35, KW-20.32, PQ-25.26, TM-29.21

I was told it was a 5 speed, had it shipped directly to a shop outside St. Louis for a rebuild ($1850). I never asked the shop to confirm it's a 5 speed and they just assumed I knew what I had. I contacted the seller (2.5 years later) and he said he was sure it was a 76 5 speed. I sent him a message today outlining the costs for converting it to a 5 speed (~$1700) and pointed out in our email string that I specifically said I didn't want it if it was a 4 speed. I asked him what he thinks the right thing to do is. We will see.
