    Hardi fuel pumps

Whilst researching these pumps I came across a thread that quoted two different part numbers:

    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ighlight=Hardi

.......the Hardi pump in the '65-'68 swb Parts Catalogue is as quoted by Jim in the above thread i.e. 901.608.103.00, however in the '69-'70 Parts Catalogue (where it had become standard fitment for the 911T only) it is 901.608.106.00 as shown in John's photos in the thread. I don't know why the part number changed although the original (901.608.103.00) was used on all models, including the 'S' having replaced the earlier Bendix type, whilst the later (901.608.106.00) was for the 'T' only with the introduction of fuel injection to other models in '69, not sure if this could be a factor?

The pumps shown in the photos in the earlier thread are the later style and differ in construction to what is shown in the Parts Catalogues (both the '65-'68 and the '69-'70 Parts Catalogues show the same pump....the original style with a more substantial base and separate fuel banjos); these original ones were of a more substantial build with a clear cap, 'Mod HZP' on the base and blue in colour (see photo).

I have obtained a number of these original pumps over the last few years to refurbish ready for my cars' restoration, in addition to the blue 'Mod HZP' ones, which I believe are the correct Porsche 911 fitment, I also have a black 'Mod S' and a red 'Mod H'; if anyone knows what make of car(s) these two were used on I would love to know. Additionally if anyone has experience of refurbishing these original pumps I would be interested in their experiences.

My '69 T came with a box of four dead ones!

    There's a message here.......why bother?!

I took the best cosmetic one and took out the diaphragm so it was flow through...mounted it as original and "correct" with dummy wiring and fuel lines...AND

Mounted a new Bosch rotary for the '70-'71 Ts up front.

    Done.

Maybe you could try directly with the factory?
