Great build with more than 1 bidder wanting the car=280K. Great colors and high attention to detail. There is additional value to buy the car and be driving it within a few days. I went through 4 years of a hot rod build and wont do again. If you commission a high end build with a reputable shop get ready to cut endless checks and wait for how long? The twin turbo that followed it on BAT didn't have the buyers,,,,too many neg comments on interior. You don't spend over 200K on a build to find someone to change interior. Not sure is a twin turbo was a special draw either.

With Ducktail your ripping the roads and going to cars and coffee today. Very respectful/reputation/engaged seller helped as well.

I don’t disagree with a word of that. It looks like a very well done car. Just seemed high IMO for a SC based build. Seller did a great job as you point out.

I feel your pain on hot rod build times, I’m in the middle of a couple of those myself!

    BaT Description:

This 1967 Porsche 911S coupe was purchased by the current owner in 2012, and an ensuing refurbishment performed by Jerry Woods Enterprises of Campbell, California, included modifications for vintage racing. The car currently wears California license plates and is finished in red with silver stripes over a black interior. Power comes from a rebuilt 2.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission with revised gearing. Modifications include twin-plug cylinder heads, Weber carburetors, a GE80 camshaft, 911SC brake calipers, steel rear fender flares, a roll cage, racing seats, a custom exhaust with a MagnaFlow muffler, and Fuchs wheels. The car has participated in two Rennsport Reunions, as well as CSRG, HMSA, and SVRA events. This SWB 911S is now offered on behalf of the current owner with refurbishment photos, service records, spare parts, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

Delivered from the factory in Silver Metallic (96240), the car received bodywork before the installation of steel rear fender flares and a repaint in its current red with silver side stripes in the 2013. Features include polished rear bumperettes, front and rear tow hooks, side-view mirrors, a cowl-mounted electrical cut-off switch, a Rennsport windshield graphic, external decklid latches, internal and external hood latches, and a plexiglass rear window, side windows, and door windows. The car participated at the 2015 and 2018 Rennsport Reunion events at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and stickers are present on the windshield. Rock chips incurred during track use have been touched-up.

The 15″ Fuchs wheels measure 6″ wide up front and 7″ out back and are mounted with Hoosier Street T.D. S tires. Suspension modifications include adjustable spring plates and aftermarket torsion bars, while braking is handled by four-wheel discs sourced from a 911SC. A Fuel Safe fuel cell is mounted in the front trunk along with a strut bar.

The cabin features black painted floors, a MOMO driver’s seat, and a 911R-replica low-back passenger seat. Schroth five-point harnesses are fitted along with a full roll cage, additional dash-mounted switchgear, and a FireSense fire-suppression system.

The three-spoke Alcantara-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation sourced from a later-model 911 including a tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer is stopped at 98k miles. Approximately 2k miles were added during current ownership, and total mileage is unknown. The seller states that an 8k-rpm MSD rev-limiter chip is installed and that the oil level gauge is not connected.

The 2.0-liter flat-six was rebuilt by Jerry Woods Enterprises in 2013 and features twin-plug cylinder heads, dual Weber carburetors, a GE80 camshaft, and a 12-wire Marelli distributor. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rebuilt five-speed manual transaxle with custom gearing. The exhaust system features a MagnaFlow muffler that was installed in 2012.

Competition photos can be seen in the gallery along with photos taken during the paint and engine work. The sale includes rectangular mirrors, an open exhaust system, a spare Rennsport windshield graphic, and a driver window net.

    Auction Description:

Now up for auction is this custom street-legal 1969 Porsche 911T 2.0 race car. Based on a 1969 Karmann Coupe, this 911T was transformed into a race car during the 1990s and saw great success in PCA, VRG, HSR, and SVRA racing events up until 2011. In 2012, this example was brought to the 901 Shop to undergo extensive refurbishment and upgrades including new fuel, braking, suspension, and electronic systems, a full respray, and a rebuild of the 2.0 L flat-six engine with 911S pistons and cams. A highly competitive air-cooled racer that can be enjoyed both on and off the track, this 911T underwent a recent refresh by Carrera 6 Racing and is now being offered for auction by its seller in New York.

During its time at the 901 Shop in 2012, this 911T was completely refinished in a silver metallic color along with the installation of lightweight 911R-style bumpers and a lightweight windshield wiper system. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows the original color to have been Champagne Yellow and the body of this example is said to be in very good condition with only a few repairs said to have been performed on the original rust-free pan. New Bosch H4 Euro headlights were installed recently and this 911T rides on painted 16” Fuchs wheels that come dressed in BFGoodrich G-Force R1 tires.

Inside, the cabin has been mostly stripped and optimized for racing with the installation of a full roll cage, a fire suppression system, and a MOMO steering wheel. Other features include period correct sport bucket seats, easy access buttons and switches, lightweight inner door panels, and a 901 Shop Short Shift Kit with lockout. A new headliner was also installed by the 901 Shop in 2012.

This 911T is equipped with its original 2.0 L flat-six engine which was rebuilt by the 901 Shop in 2012 with overhauled cylinder heads as well as 911S pistons and cams. A new clutch and flywheel were also installed during this time along with a new clutch cable tube, throttle kit, wiring harness, and fuel system including a new surge tank, pumps, regulators, filters, fittings, and lines. Sending power to the rear wheels is a numbers matching 5-speed 901 manual gearbox upgraded with custom gear ratios, a limited-slip differential, and Wevo mounts. The suspension was overhauled with a 901 Shop front sway bar, Elephant rear sway bar, Bilstein RSR-spec struts and shocks, Elephant poly bronze bushings, and Monoball trailing arm bushings. Within the last year, this 911T was brought to Carrera 6 Racing for a thorough refurbishment including fuel system cleaning, rebuilt carburetors, and repair to the steering linkage. A new MSD 6AL ignition system has also been installed recently along with a Dansk center sport muffler in matte black, and this 911 is said to be in turnkey driving condition, just waiting to be enjoyed.

This sale will include a clean Florida title. Whether you are looking for your next track competitor or a visceral air-cooled outlaw to be enjoyed on the streets, this 1969 911T is sure to satisfy.

Just saw Martin Gibson’s sand beige 72t/st hit the hammer last week on paddy’s day. Always liked this car. Feel sorry for Martin to let it go after 12 years.
