Ground Strap remnant (driver's side cam cover): Where did this once go?

I just noticed that I have a cut ground strap (maybe 1/4 inch left) that's attached to a nut on the driver's side cam cover (see photo below). Engine is a 71 2.2 Any thoughts on 1) where this strap is supposed to be attached on the other end, and 2) if it's important?

    Thanks, Joe

Or does anyone have a diagram that shows where all engine/electrical panel ground should be? This make me think I should check all of mine.

It's part of the harness that ends up at the ground lug on the C.D. box. From your picture I'd say that harness has been disturbed.

Disturbed. That's a kind way to put it. I have a new CD harness and 71 engine to SWB body conversion made by Kroon that I've installed. CD box is grounded to body, so I guess I don't need to worry about this one. Thanks Ed.
