Went and checked on mine today which are on my sea side dirt in Northland NZ on the Kaipara Harbour.
Little one"s named Zig Zag (had it on when I got it) and is used for setting nets for flounder (sole), yellow eyed mullet (great bait) etc and teaching my 11yr old son how to deal with the hilariously stupid situations he best to be aware will happen eventually.
The bigger is "Melons",, which is quite bemusing as I cannot recall the last time a woman was on it. She is used to go over the notoriously dangerous Kaipara Bar and is set up for purely catching big fish from Bills, marlin tuna and my favourite the Kingfish.
There is not a sq inch of teak, mahogany or varnish required on these 'dogs' but they serve me well and I service them better.

Where was this picture taken? I think that might be my old Dragon. Designed by Johan Anker and built in Norway in the 30s, carvel planked with single Honduras Mahogany planks stem to stern with no caulking. They used to be an Olympic class race boat, I always thought it was the Bugatti of sailboats.

edit: probably not my old boat, a few different details and I haven't seen it since 1983.

That makes sense, there are still a lot of them that race out of the yacht club in Toronto.

    Thanks Chuck. (Kimberly says hi.)

Boating offers a different opportunity to throw money away when we’re not racing.
