    Help ! Clam shells removal

i am disassembling dash items for my 71 , I have removed the 2 small screws each side that hold the upper and lower piece together. Seems there might be other attachments that are not visible form the outside of these pieces.....I can separate them by hand but seem very tight just behind the steering wheel.
I don't want to damage but they don't want to separate all the way.
Does the steering wheel need to be removed with attachment behind ?
    Thanks for assistance .
Also the emergency flasher components are a tight fit the the trim piece secret to removal?
    Thanks
    For assistance

Yes, pull the steering wheel. There are more screws behind the wheel.

Not sure what you're referring to on the flasher. Should be self-explanatory. There are two clips on the flasher you compress and pull the switch through the dash after disconnecting in the rear.

You are the man.....I compressed the plastic springs but wanted to remove form the rear but guess it will come thru the front now.
    Thanks again for assistance
