El Chucho - finally on the road...

It's been a year – a whole year! – since I posted that I hoped the car would be running by the Fall (Fall 2014...), but I have finally got the car on the road, tech inspected, registered and insured. Been on the rolling road to sort basic ECU mapping and driven about 400 miles so far. Next is to get a few more miles under its belt and then go for the full mapping under load.

Impressions? Fast, light and responsive! Problems? Speedo cable broke (guess who used the original... Doh!) and oil temp gauge giving a false reading (now discovered the reason: the temp gauge module is tom a later car than the sender unit!).

Trying not to bore you all with a few more photos, but I'm ecstatic – it's been four years since I collected the car in Orange County, so you'll have to excuse my enthusiasm (and stupid grin).

And a little video (pre-mapping, so not very representative...):

Keith, those wheels with the paint and lights really set a new standard for how to present a 911 hotrod. Kudos for artfully achieving a beautifully restrained build. Love it.
