    Fog Light Switch Question

Just bought this switch for a '71 Targa and installed it, everything works fine except the light tube inside has a dab of red paint at the end and does not light up the green lens very well and the red shows through the green lens. Shouldn't this switch have a clear light tube that illuminates just the green lens? Seems like this light tube is for a switch knob with the small button type lens in red.

Mike, could you take a photo of your light tube for me? I'm not sure I have the correct tube; here's a photo:

Anyone know where you can get the clear insert tube that looks like a golf tee that Serge posted above?

You might try Gary Constantine of Brezelwerks. I don't think he makes such things now but he does related stuff. Maybe you could talk him into it.

    Mike,
As you can see from the photos, the parts do not fit together. No matter what I've tried, the green light will not go on because the light tube sticks out past the knob. Am I doing this wrong? Help here, folks is much appreciatedName: IMG_4030.jpg

I just installed a fog light switch and some TTG lights. There are two different types of light tubes. The golf tee and red the tipped one that is straight like the photo.

Serge you may have the earlier fog light switch that takes the stick with the red or green tip, if so your knob and golf tee are wrong, you may need a knob like this:

Stoddards has the pin with colored tip in three colors: red, green, and yellow.

I thought those were for an early knob that looks like this:

Which brings up my question. The old lights in my car are both (I don't have a 4-way flasher) a sort of orange and at least one isn't original. Does anybody know if 1965 911s were supposed to have different colors?

I have a fog light switch and a Webasto heater switch.
