    Dash switch bezels - 1966

I was looking at this 1965 build 1966 model car: http://test.early911sregistry.org/fo...mbers-1965-911 and note that the three dash switches have chrome bezels. Dr. Johnson states that they are black up to 1967.

My 1966 has black bezels and last week I was discussing this with Rob Groß and he said they should be chrome.

Other than a radio change and removing the wood wheel, the interior of my car was unchanged so I wonder who is correct?

Hoping the bezel police will jump in here... pics helpful...

Stephen, black until the 1967 911S was the first offering in chrome and there after in chrome for the 911L and 911L (USA) both coupe and Targa.

The parts book says - they remained black into 1967, 1968 and 1969 for model 911, 911 (USA), 911 TU, coupe and targa.

Agree with Bobs 67S statement, and confirming 302672 has always had black bezels. European delivery without an Emergency Flasher Warning Switch and no hole/filler plug in center between Fog Light and Gas Heater switches. (One owner 49 years.) Believe the "Warning Switch" installed in 911 & 912 cars for the US market and released from the factory after 31 DEC 1965 - US DOT requirement.

Stephen, you have this text ring around the warning switch. As of when was this applied?

Thanks for noticing... The dash has been cut and I had to replace the hazard switch: I thought the one I got (from the UK) was correct until it arrived ... Both on the 'to do' list...

Pretty sure my 68N has its original black bezels (with the rubber covers over the switches) and the good Dr Johnson's book seems to suggest the same.
