1973E "Brownie" ready for a new life on the East Coast

    Dear Early 911S Registry members,,

I’m a new “active” member to the 911S registry (still waiting for my early911sregistry #).

I say “active” because in fact I joined in 2007 but have only posted 5 times in 8 years….Was living in Europe at the time and was the happy owner of a 1971 2.2E gold metallic that I had to sell when my job brought me on this side of the pound.

A couple of years ago I decided to go back into the “911 classic world” and after (very) long researches to find a car as original as possible I found “Brownie”.

Many of you already know her since his previous owner posted on this forum when he decided to wake her up after 25 years in storage

Brownie is now on the East Coast and she is enjoying the coastal leaving ;-)

The car is in an amazing original condition and I intent to keep her that way.

I’m sure I will have many questions in the coming months/years as this winter I will start working on replacing the brakes and suspensions that are still original to the car and after 66,000 miles it is time for a replacement!

Here is a picture of the car (I removed the front 73 rubber bumper guards as I prefer the cleaner look without them. The original S trim and front bumper guards are stored and it won’t be a lot of work to put them back on the car if I want to go back to 100% original).

    Damien,

    Welcome to the East Coast.

I really like your sepia brown car. I also have a sepia brown '68 912.
My Wife Astrid loves the sepia brown. It will be her car to drive so i was leaning on keeping the color but I go back and forth.
I asked my Mother in law what she thought, she said she remembers the color and would describe it as very classy.
Seeing your origial car is making me re think changing the color of my '68. I just hope they get the color mix right.
Good luck with your E, it's a beautiful Porsche and again welcome. -Matt

    Thanks for the kind words!!

Below are pictures of the original key chain that came with the car with the Porsche crest.

First owner told me it was given to him as a gift when they took delivery of the car in 73.

The name and address of the dealership (Bill Stremmel in Reno, NV) is on the back.

I don't know if this is rare or pretty common around here but pretty cool to think that it stayed with the car for all those years.
