    Dave,

What safety marking dates are you trying to match on the lense you do have? I've seen three different versions.

Obviously you wouldn't want the DOT 72, ???

    That would be horrible!!

Imagine the embarrassment of having a total stranger see that the date on your tiny reflector is incorrect!

Sorry. Nothing personal but this stuff has gotten ridiculous. Dr. P would be laughing his butt off at us right now. I'm a purveyor of minutia like this but I still think it's folly.

Some people like to go the distance if they can, it's personally satisfying. Why is the pursuit of personal enjoyment folly? Granted, there are those that don't care one way or another and that's fine as well. For instance, I wouldn't repaint a car in Sepia even if it was the original color.

Wouldn't it be sad if no one cared enough to learn the details of these great cars? I figured if Dave didn't care, he wouldn't be looking for NOS, he could get the cheapest Sierra Madre repops.

    Michael,
I don't disagree at all. People pay me to "get the details right".

Personally I just think it's a bit out of control and I sincerely believe the good Dr would agree with me.

But to each his own. It's all good.

Here is a 67 stamp on it. Not NOS but overall great condition. Let me know if interested.

I have no problem with being a turd.

In the interest of higher education what DOT date do the currently available reflectors have on them? (Still working from NOS stock; I haven't bought these in 15 years.)
