    FS: @BHCC - 1965 Porsche 911

The discussion of Beverly Hills Car Club in the thread George Gates wrecked 67S at Beverly Hills Car Club was perhaps not the most ringing endorsement of a classic car dealer.

Beverly Hills Car Club is now advertising a 1965 Porsche 911 http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...1/1782532.html

They say it's a matching numbers car chassis # 301115 and engine # 902838. It is a 1965 911 and the engine does have center-lubricated cams and a block off plate where the tandem fuel pump for the Solex carbs used to be.

It's not the prettiest 911 I've ever seen. The asking price is $ 135k.

    Can anybody identify the jack?

Ah! It looked like a Vigot, but not an early 356 Vigot.

Beverly Hills Car Club said "'65 Porsche 911 with matching numbers chassis# 301115 engine#902838" but all I checked was that it had center lubricated cams and originally Solex carburetors.

My car is later (301382) with an earlier engine (P-901505) so Beverly Hills Car Club might just have made a "mistake." Well, they're also mistaken about being in Beverly Hills instead of East Los Angeles.

John, they probably mean that all the numbers on the car match the numbers printed in the ad.

I just received confirmation from a contact of mine at Porsche (in Europe) that this car is NON-MATCHING!!!! You guys were spot on with your comments!!! I have been seriously considering this car.
I am not even sure this car is model year 65! I looks like it could also be MY66!

    Regards, Joe!

Chassis number 301115 is definitely 1965 model year. The photos do not include a shot of the chassis number stamping, but it has many 1965 model year features:
    • knee pad does not wrap around dash
    • leather gear shift boot
    • washer tank (bag) in right fender
    • no adjustment at front strut top mounts
    • round knob for rear deck lid release

This poor car does need a lot of work.
