    FS: Blauplunkt AM Radio

Got this Blaupunkt AM radio on a trade. Appears too old for the 911s I'm familiar with so I'm turing to the 356 Pelicans. What model is it?

The dial lights, it picks up stations and a test speaker makes sounds. $125 Thanks

it's actually not as old as you think. It looks like a mid 70s "Hamburg" and it probably came out of a VW. Does it have any tags on the side? The face plate definitely looks vw to me. Value? your guess is as good as mine. I'd say $100-120? The downside is that it is a base model for Blaupunkt and only has AM

Here's a good resource for older Blaupunkt radios (for anyone that cares)

    Hi

Probably not as old as you expect. From memory I think it is the Blaupunkt Hamburg US model from around 1970.

Would help identify model and date better if there is still a paper tag on right with numbers and letters.

The Hamburg AM was relatively low end unit in Blaupunkt's model range at that time especially when stereo radios and radio cassettes were making it to market but plus points of yours are that it switches on and still has the plain knobs in Porsche style (rather than the various other style knobs often seen that are not for Porsche) / silver levers. These bits and bobs add up cost if missing and so one may want it just for them.

If the small chrome surround around is separate (unlikely from what I see in photo)rather than integral with the rest of the front plate then that's possibly Porsche style per the period fitting kit although some people do fit these fuller plates that were actually for other marques, especially if their car facia has been butchered by a PO and sins need to be covered up.

Plenty of detailed posts on radios and fittings on forum etc if you search.

Unlikely to be a valuable model relatively speaking unless someone really wants this spec and date to match their car's original fittment IMO.

(Beaten to the punch by jos.hall as I typed the above post but our comments align)
