I believe that the original bearing used in this location was a 'full complement' style.

This means it would have been full of rollers which were retained by grease.

This bearing is still sold as an HK1712 but the bearing that would normally be delivered now would have a reduced number of rollers.

We always specify and buy the full complement version for steering rack rebuilds.

    Chris,

Is there a different part number for the full complement version of the HK1712 (#22), or do you purchase from a special bearing house or ??

    Thanks,
    Dennis

    I think INA have a HN prefix for full complement but they don't make one with a 12 x 17 size only 12 x 16 and 12 x 18.

I buy them from my normal bearing supplier and have always ordered to an HK reference but it doesn't mean that he doesn't translate this to an cross reference.

No.17 size of space is 35x15x12mm

    Bearing 6202 is 35x15x11mm.

If you fit 6202 do u fit a 1mm shim to pack the space?

    Thanks
