correct antennae install pics 71 T

Looking for pics of stock installed antennae for an early T (1971), driver side fender. Putting the fender back on, had no antennae, bought a correct Hirschman, and trying to see how it is installed and confirm proper routing of cable while the car is apart. believe there is a bracket that need to hold the lower shaft.? Any help/pics appreciated. Thx

More than likely you have the 'modern' version Hirschman which is about 7" shorter than the old Hirschmans. The antenna will be too short to pick up the stabilizing clamp in its original location. I use a piece of thin wall plastic tubing or electrical conduit and extend the antenna bottom so as to use the original clamp location. You'll need to grind some off the antenna plastic base, and use a longer bolt in the clamp to accommodate the larger I.D. This clamp is essential to preserve the antenna vertical setting. Obviously the door needs to be off.

Does your correct Hirschmann look like the antenna in post #6 of the following thread?

Thx Ed, the pics are a big help. I bought one of the high dollar Woodys concours Hirschmann antenneas. Has the angled cable attachment and is about 12-14" long. Looks like I may have to fab something. Thx again and if anybody else has any tips, all ears. (and eyes) Thx
