Thanks Jim. I was out there for work, and wish I'd been there yet another week! I will catch it one of these days soon, as it looks to be quite a gathering.
Yes, the crowds were very light at Yosemite, and what a beautiful drive out there. I'd highly recommend the trip to anyone. I could only do a half-day of exploring, but even then... it was spectacular, as you said.

Lee's Tangerine is a pretty fallish color (just trying to get this back to Harlan St).

Saturday really was a wonderful day - perfect sunny and warm weather, good turnout, and for the first time in I can't remember how long I actually went for the cars, camaraderie, Jim's excellent coffee and doughnuts, good conversation and not to take pictures - but because I wanted to see friends……..a very rewarding morning and the drive home through the Berkeley Hills while avoiding the freeway made the whole effort worthwhile.

Quite a few new cars ( let's just say I do not recall seeing them before ), to the point that I felt I should at least take & post those images, as well as the perfect opportunity to sneak yet another gratuitous shot of Ruprecht.

The black car is a rare Lamborghini Islero, a true GT which came before the silliness of the Countach but for one reason or another never really caught on.

Great time as always. I wasn't sure if you guys noticed the once and a lifetime viewing of Porsche's original Sports Turbo Diesel 911prototype. Frankly I was astonished to see such a site. I would expect such a find at the Quale or Pebble Beach! It's incredible the rare gems we are bestowed with at EASY!

I had this discussion with my wife 22 years ago after my first trip to California. She's from CA, I'm from the east coast. I was quickly corrected that it's "Golden" not brown. Hence the Golden State.

Ferkel the 911 suffered a horrendous crash last Saturday but was heroically put back together and made it back on the track to finish the weekend. Check out the story on Jalopnik

    Regards

    Jim
PS: We blew up 2 motors but did manage to get in about 6 hours of racing.
