    Can Seat Belts Be Modified?

I have a very early '68 with those ASE chrome buckles (with the small porsche crests, rather than the red thumb-button).

The belts I have are 2-point lap belts, and the belt webbing is frayed and tired.

Question #1: can the webbing be replaced? (and by that I mean replaced correctly/authentically?)

Question #2: can a 2-point lap belt be converted to a 3-point shoulder belt so that it is authentic?

Thank you, in advance, to anyone who can add good information.

#1 Your belts should have the "small porsche crests". 68 Porsches came with shoulder belts (ASE) in the US after Jan of 1968.
There are supposedly places that will re-web seatbelts but I have no recommendations.
    #2 No

Pictures are of a complete 68 3 point seat belt and the "authentic" DOT tag sewn on the belt. It reads 68 1
IMHO those belts are a needlessly complex, almost impossible to adjust, piece of s^*t.
They can be replaced with a simple 3 point belt made by Deist Safety Equipment (Item # 792290 in their catalog) in SoCal.

    Ciao
