    Lightbulb What is this socket for?

    Hello,
    I found this brown socket under the dash of '72 911S. What is this for? This is not an ash tray light as the light works.

    Not sure about the socket but the wire looks like its for a speaker. For a rear speaker?

    That might be the point - pre-wired and available.

    What Ed said ^^.

    I think it is not factory as it has two brown wires which typically are grounds on our 911's. It almost looks like a length of lamp cord for a PO kludge.

    and, remember... if you find one PO kludge, you'd better check the entire car before it burns up...

    looks like a speaker connection from a Becker radio

    Carmel - the Becker DIN connectors have one spade and one pin.
