    For what it's worth, I bought a repro from Poland I think. Every fifth time I close the lid I end up with dents it's so soft. Yes it's mostly my fault but this to my knowledge does not happen to real lids, or does it? I needed a push start from some friends and before I could advise them where to push I had four new dents. There is a great weight saving though, bigger than 50% over steel.

    If you like a solid fitting lid with good gaps then original hoods are the only way to go. Polish ones are flimsy.
