    In the early 90's Bob Watson in the UK built and documented an engine like this in Classic Cars Magazine. It was a 2.8 with slide injection. The car was raced in UK by Arnie Poole an Irishman famous for a demon Mini in the 70s. It worked very well. Sorry I dont have a link.

    if its the same person i am thinking of, its alec poole and hc was also a british touring champion in mid to late '60s.
