    How do you pronounce 'Porsche'?

    Growing up in England I've always pronounced it 'Porsh'.

    I know Ferdinand Porsche pronounced his family name 'Porsha' and that is the 'correct' way to pronounce it but always sounds a little weird to me. I think I'm going to stick to the 'Porsh' pronunciation because I like it.

    How do you say it and where do you come from?

    Cheers

    -Kav.

    Two syllables like Ferdinand, Ferry, Butzi, Peter, Wolfgang and all the rest of the family say it.

    Always figured you Brits were a bit 'wankers'......./-;

    From the U. S. of A., where we say it PORSH-uh.

    Odd. All my British mates pronounce it with the correct two syllables (as do I). Maybe they're humoring me...

    'you Brits were all wankers' is the correct way to say it!

    I like the Porsh-uh! Now that I'm an American (and very proud) I should adopt that pronunciation!

    Cheers

    Maybe they're posh? Are they from the South? maybe it's a Northern thing?

    I've heard many Germans or Austrians say Por-sha, but there is very little accent on it compared to Porsh that it is hard to hear sometimes. More like POR-sha or PORsh-a.

    I say Porsche but try not to care when people say it differently.

    Alan de Cadenet would always make it plural for some reason.

    I always say Porsh-uh except when I'm around hardcore Porsche friends - we often say Porsch among ourselves.

    The only way is Essex! This Geordie grew up saying phrases like, "Howay look at that Porsch, he must be bloody loaded like!" or "Let's nick the wheels off that Porsch when he's in the offie!" etc...

    The only Porscha I knew of was me sisters friend.
