    Hi Jimmy,

Are you able to make the Retaining pin (Collar) in steel instead of aluminum? Aim would be so that the snap hook seat belts have a stronger connecting point and theoretically safer in an accident. Per my correspondence with Mike at Partsklassik they don't recommend the snap hook seat belts attached to aluminum knobs.

    Thanks!

P.S. I am also unable to send a DM (waiting to post more than 5 times).

Actually I just tested and the Partsklassik snap hook belts won't fit on the aluminum collar.

Both of the parts shown in the first post are used with the Teka seat belts that were carried over from the 356. Here are changes in the shoulder belt ends during the early years.

In '68 the mounting bolt threads changed from M8 to 7/16" but the old seat belts remained the same. A new design of 3-point seal belts from Repa was also used on some cars. Instead of snap hooks they used simple tongues with holes through which hex head bolts passed into the body. They were covered by a plastic sleeve for a more finished look. American aftermarket seat belts also used the same style steel tongues, but they were wider and could not accept the plastic sleeves which left the mounting bolts exposed.

I think that it would probably be easiest for you to forego authenticity and use the eye bolts that Mike sells.
