Help with MFI linkage disassembly/throttle body removal

I want to remove my throttle bodies to check for condition and wear and do flow testing, but I can't figure out how to remove the linkage main cross bar from my 1972 911. It rides in a needle bearing that's pressed into the right side plastic stack assembly, and it appears that I cannot remove the plastic stacks without first removing the cross bar. What am I missing? It's not obvious to me how the cross bar is held in place.

Am I on the right track here? What is the easiest way to remove the throttle bodies from a 2.4L with the plastic stacks?

You have to remove the plastic stacks , then they just pull outward off the shaft.
