    Help in Palo Alto

Can anyone help by collecting a set of sports seats from Palo Alto, packaging and sending to me in Australia (I have my own Fed Ex acct)

Financial compensation provided for time taken of course

I recently offered a set of sport seats that I was reluctant to ship.

The buyer was supposed to arrange shipping himself but due to an unforeseen complication by a 3rd party did I end up packing and shipping it for him. To me it was a challenging experience. Finding the correct size double wall carton boxes was not easy (big computer and appliance boxes are good one's to start w/) but what made it more tricky was that one seat was a pain to take apart. One of the nuts apparently had come loose and another was frozen / stuck.

It all worked out and I had 3 boxes in total. Two w/ a seat and one w/ the seat frames. A seat packed (if I recall correct) weighs about 17 kg each, the frames packed were like 25kg.

If this helps. I just shipped a set and what i did was bring them down to the local pack and ship. They profesionally packed them for $150 and sent them on there way.
If I was up there i would give you a hand
    Regards

    Hi Clyde

I don't want to deter any possible helpers just to shed a light on my experience so that it doesn't cause any issues later on between you and a helper. Possible helpers are now aware that it might be more "complicated" than it looks at first glance. It took me at least a half a day of taking the seats apart, getting boxes, getting stuffing material, pack them, go to the PO, etc.

If you can have it done for $150 professionally as well that would be my number one choice.

    Best,

Sport seats are actually very easy to pack... as long as the 2 backrest screws come out. Each seat ends up being 3 components with each seat fitting in a 24" cube box if memory serves me. Frame w/ base cushion, backrest, and headrest in between.

    Clyde,

If you can get the seller to drop off at Nefab in Newark they will package for you and send Fed Ex.

He could hire a messenger service to pickup in Palo Alto and drop off at Nefab.

^^^This sounds good if like Frank says, all components are separated without a problem.
I would be happy to help as I work for a large packaging company that handles anything from wine boxes,
pharmaceuticals, high tech computers, agricultural packaging etc.
I'm in Central Valley, CA but travel to the Bay Area quite often.
If seller can break them down, I'm sure I can box them up securely.
