    Expert opinions wanted: please respond.

Given the current market interest in early 911's; what would be your buying offer price for relatively well restored S,T and E models?

Let's say the cars in question are not meant to be bubble wrapped museum pieces; but rather very nice specimens that have been professionally restored and that can be enjoyed as they are meant to be.

I am currently looking to add a good example to my stable and have located a few, but the prices are all over the place and I'm not the type to spend years restoring a basket case. My knowledge base is always growing and I can only hope to learn more from your experiences.

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

Not a single offered opinion on this topic? Had I asked about what correct nut to use on the badge I would have gotten 100 answers.

Why the tight lipped on values of cars? I'm not looking to make an investment or flip cars. Had I wanted to do that I would not have sold my gt3 RS or gt2 or gt3 at below market values this year. I sold them to go back to a better Porsche driving experience that can only be had with the older iron, in my opinion.

Just want to buy a quality car and not get burned by over inflated price gauging. Figured you guys would be a good source of safe answers.

I'm always intrigued by the expectation of newbies and guests to this community. Not sure what you're used to but we all have lives and believe it or not lots of other interests besides Porsches (especially on weekends). I might suggest in the future you exercise more patience when soliciting responses, that way you won't be disappointed.

Your question is simple but there will be a hundred different opinions.

Never being afraid to start a controversy, this is my observation.

I'll use coupes for my example; 2+ on the Hagerty scale ("1's" rarely reach the market). Range is based on options and originality.

    T: $100-130k
    E: $150-180k
    S: $250-$300k

These are rough numbers but I believe in the ballpark.

BTW: I would pay little attention to Hagerty's values. Concours '64 911 for $440k? Ha!

There are stickies in the cars for sale forum. Folks have been adding sales data to those threads for some years now.

Had the 997 RS since new. 8 years...not a flip (prob shoulda kept that one)
    Had 997GT2 5 years. (I'm not a turbo guy...just can't fall in love with them)...not a flip
2015 GT3.....sigh....not a drivers car. Just so absolutely boring. No driver input needed. May as well be driving my M6. Can't tell the difference. Kicked it to the curb. At a loss.....not a flip.

Started racing PCA in a '73. Ended up in GTA with a 996 RSR ex-ALMS car.

Just miss real cars. Also sold my '71 240Z and my '66 mini. Just thinning the herd.

    Frank,

I am impressed with your helpful reply. You were slow, but helpful. I figured the guy was getting stonewalled for demanding a reply!! I never like "please respond" in any incoming email... reminds me too much of work, so some times I will not reply just cuz of the tone.

To OP- I think Frank is right on with his prices.

Thanks for the reply and I apologize for my impatience. I figure everyone else is just as bored as me and just checking forums.

Opinions are exactly what I am seeking.

    Thanks again
